Item 1008- Handcrafted, sculpted carved 999 Fine and 925 Sterling Silver Ring Infinity Cross Adjustable

$129.00

This intricately detailed ring can be worn on the index finger, thumb, or any finger that is a size 6.5 to a size 9. This ring is completely handcrafted without the use of molds or casting or machines including the band. Rather than being the typical flat band, I created 3 swirling strands which compliment the swirls in the infinity symbol. I have included a picture of the back of the ring. The top of the ring measures 18mm and tapers off to the back for a measurement of 4mm.

Using just my fingers and a scalpel I handcrafted this stunning ring using 960 Sterling Silver which is a combination of 999 Pure Fine Silver and 925 Sterling Silver. 960 is a higher quality silver than 925 as it has a higher silver content. I used a scalpel and my fingers to create the infinity symbol, tiny cross and tiny balls.

I love the combination of the infinity with the cross. I also added delicate texture to the cross. This is definitely a statement ring for faith, hope and everlasting life.

This ring is adjustable for sizes 6.5 up to a size 9 and can be worn by either a man or a womn. By gently pulling the two ends apart then placing it on the desired finger and pressing the two ends back together. This would be a great thumb ring as it will be easier to get on and off.

How I made this: PMC960 is a 50/50 blend between .925 Sterling Silver and .999 Fine Silver. This mixture allows me to create with strength but also does not tarnish as easily as .925 Sterling Silver. I made these pendant with PMC960 which I hand carved, sculpted & shaped prior to going into the kiln at 1650 degrees for 2 hours.. Once out of the kiln I added a patina to give depth and then hand polished.

"What is PMC?" PMC (Precious Metal Clay) is a medium where they take solid metal, grind it to micro fine particles then add organic binder to it to give the medium "clay" like properties. PMC allows me to create pieces by sculpting, carving & texturing through the use of scalpels, wood carving tools, and anything that has a unique texture. This is similar to pottery only I am working with precious metals such as .999 Fine silver, 22K Gold, .925 Sterling Silver and base metals such as Copper & Bronze. Once I have finished sculpting the piece I then fire it in a Kiln at 1650 degrees for 2 hours which burns off the organic matter and returns the medium back to the solid metal. At this point I can treat it as the solid metal that it is by soldering, hammering, sawing or any techniques used with traditional sheet metal.

Care instructions

You should never use liquid silver cleaner. LIQUID silver cleaner is very harsh and can harm the metal over time as well as remove any patinas that were put on the piece intentionally. Body oils, hairspray, perfume, makeup...just to name a few...can cause Sterling to tarnish so use mild soap and water to clean the piece after wearing. Everyone's body chemistry is different and some people can wear sterling for years without tarnishing it. I personally have high acid content so I can tarnish a chain around my neck in one day. The best way to remove tarnish is with a Moonshine Jewelry Polishing Cloth. I will be offering these for sale in the future.
